dynamic spaces reveal and disguise - a music, media and fashion performance
In Between was a performance in a former industrial complex dealing with the topic of temporary structuring and shaping physical space. Seventeen white walls, parting the room leaving a dynamic field of visibility and disguise. Moving shadows of the inherited performance innervate the installation as the walls begin to turn and change their appearance constantly, shaping new geometrical forms, opening new paths and glades. This enforces the audience not only to watch, but to move and discover the different perspectives and images produced by the play.
For in between I teamed up with some fellow stu- dents in order to develop the concept and drama- turgical process of the performance. Besides the conceptual and organizational work it was my task to build a network of stepper motors and write the corresponding software to remotely control or, in this context, play the room filling structure - precisely rotating the seventeen screens.
